These LED string lights were a great purchase. I liked my first three 'warm whites' so much, I bought an additional eight lengths of 'yellow' for my trees. With a 12V remote dimmer, they are perfection (see pic).PROS:1. INEXPENSIVE: The 50m or 165' lengths come to about $.20/foot. I found no other sellers on Amazon that came close to this price.2. LOW POWER CONSUMPTION AND SAFE: 1000 feet (4@165') consumes less than a 10 watts!(see pic at bottom)People confuse the listed power supply peak amperage rating with the actual load. The real load draws a little less than 3 watts per 50m string (~3W/500LEDs = ~.006W/LED). Because the draw is so low, I can have 8 strings running off one transformer. In short, they are almost free to run and 12 Volts in the rain is safer than 120V.This is a set of 3 thin solid copper wires with LED surface mount chips soldered directly to the wires every few inches then encapsulated in a drop of clear epoxy. Very pretty effect, basically just little spots of light floating in the air.Took off a star because electrically the design is pretty dodgy: there are no current limiting resistors per group of LEDs -- all the LED's are just in parallel and they depend on the 3rd wire plus the capacity of the power supply to current limit enough to not burn out the LED's. What this means practically is a) the setup derates the LED's output, so they are pretty dim overall, b) you have to use the whole string in its full length, if you try to chop it (much) shorter or run multiple strands from a central point they will run too bright and burn out, c) since LED chips forward voltage can't *exactly* match the brightness light to light is visibly inconsistent (though some might find this a feature, its pretty). If you get these expect to use it as delivered and realize it won't work with any of the many other 12V power supplies and RGB controllers you might find, this is a not a drop in replacement for the common 12V LED strip lights you see all over. If you like soldering and have a bunch of resistors you could make it work, but it will lose the charm of the almost invisible copper wiring.4 stars because it is as advertised, 1 star off because of the inconsistent brightness, super-cheap power supply and quality control problems (several LED's out).Cheap, yes. And pleasantly functional. But the wire is very thin gauge and appears fragile (it's thinner than a competitor's version I recently bought), and the solder connection between the transformer and light string is protected only by shrink tubing. The transformer is not waterproof, and the transformer lead is only about three feet long, so if you are installing outdoors you'll either need a 120v receptacle very close by, or you'll have to get creative and build yourself an extension cable (find connectors for extension cable here: That’s fantastic product, Elegant, bright and great for decorating any glass jars or windows. I use it to decorate my two garage windows for Christmas season, beautiful. Cooper wires are well treated, looks like bare wires, actually fully coated and insulated. The reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is you have to to be careful not to twist the wires because the cooper is very easy to break if being twisted. Mine one wire broken after first use, but I am pretty handy, just sand the wire and weld it, it works fine again. But I am not blame the product, because that’s the natural of the cooper wires, we just need pay more attention when we wind or unwind the lights. I highly recommend this product. ThanksIt took me so long to turn around a tree.Plugged it and didn't workAnd yes I tried them before putting on the tree. It worked before. We have several of these light strands out on our deck, down the driveway, and through trees going out to the barn. They all worked great until recently when a moose walked through and broke the wires. A ladder got hung up on another set and broke them too. The wires are quite weak and break easily, but given the price, not too bad to just replace. They look amazing and the remote is very handy.Image might have been a bit misleading. It seemed it would be much bigger. Besides that the loghts are bright but unfortunately not really what i was looking for. All the lights fit in the palm of my hand. Since posting my initial review the seller has done a fantastic job of rectifying the issue. I would absolutely use then again if i found a product i likedI bought this for the power supply. I purchased the same item with solar supply. It stopped working after my return period ended. So I bought this for the power supply. It works ok. To early to tell.
