Mainly because the author doesn't follow the herd and get a "Mother-may-I" from those that spend their time crying about grammar or beating a dead grant to get an article into a journal. As for those that fuss about sources, The writing is followed up by sources that occupy over half of the book.Yes, the woman pulled information from all over the spectrum to put together a jigsaw puzzle of information into some semblance of usefull order. What she did not do was spoon feed everything to the reader in a 3rd grade format which seems to have some reviewers crying foul. The book pulls our attention to the fact that most of the "experts" ignore most of the information available in order to give the consumer a canned and profitable "solution" to obesity, disease, and cancer while watching you die.Getting back in sync with day/ night cycles and eating natural foods in season will solve some of those issues. There is a lot of information in this book and if you enjoy thinking beyond the level of an "idiots guide" and have a reading comprehension that is geared more towards learning than fussing over sentence structure then go ahead and get this book.It was fascinating, challenging and enjoyable.
