This is a solid "Two-for" from the folks at Ace Records. It clocks in at 21 stellar tracks from the Rumble Man & let me tell you he and his band of Head Coats were open for business. This collection was probably something I may have dismissed in the past because it wasn't Link's 50's or 60's recordings but this collection is essential Link Wray. It was recorded with the help of Milk Shakes/Coats drummer who covered Link Wray and played instrumental tunes in his own recordings . This was recorded in a small analog 8 track studio with very little overdubs. In other words this stuff is live and raw as all of the great stuff on Cadence, Epic & Swan Wray-men recordings. Check out Links version of Apache & it will quickly become your go to version. There are some vocal tunes that cover Jimmy Reed and Elvis Presley which were two of Link's influences. I'll admit there are some tunes that have that 're-write' feel but the intensity and excitement override that minor issue. Link just being Link.
