These toys are extremely durable, they will survive the rough tumble of children even after other toys are long gone. The only complaint I have concerning this particular one is the basket which attaches to the ladder , its too easy to remove. Its doesn't fall off but it will come apart if a child pulls on, snatches the basket to roll the vehicle.Other than that the vehicle is as solid and durable as all our other Paymobil stuff. We have gone through the other toy manufacturers and we settled on two .... Playmobil and Tonka .... these are the only two we have found which will survive rough tumble boys .... all others break of fall apart during use...Tip: if your little fire fighter is still too young to help assemble the toy, open the box beforehand and take 15-20mins to assemble ahead of time.Tip 2: buy a (few) additional fire fighters the single man that comes with it is not enough for interactive play. This is a very sturdy and reasonably detailed toy. Ideal for role play : from driving around, climbing ladders, making lights flash or sirens sound (2 different sirens btw, one European, one more American (although thankfully not as loud as the real ones)).As with all things Playmobil, I keep the most tiny pieces in a small bag for later as our boy is still a bit too young for some of the smallest parts.3 year old loves this truck. I like that you can go from UK to US sirens as my son enjoys both. This set is sturdy and holds up to a 3 yr old. Only minor issue is the basket pops out pretty easily but my son tends to extend the ladder out by it instead of the knobs.Great truck. Hours of fun.My 3yo is in love with these sets. We put the smallest pieces away for later but if a ton of detachable pieces is an issue glue is an option. My sons most prized possession. It has a surprising amount of functionality and has held up great over 6 months of abuse. Gave it to him for Christmas when he had just turned 2, 6 months months later he still plays with it every single day.Grandson loves fire truck. He loves the detail, even the stabilizers. Great lights and sirens. Did not get radio control, he is not interested at this time. This gift MADE our Christmas with my nephew who has vision problems. Solid toy that kids love!!I wanted to leave a review before this is opened by my son at Christmas. This sold out really quickly last year so got it all early.I completely trust play Mobil toys and it's much better to spend good money on good quality toys like this. I have got him the whole city fire collection for his birthday and Christmas (very lucky boy). I am gonna get rid of his cheaper toys so he only has a few left but better things to play with.I have also got the radio controller for this model (as in picture) this is the new model remote control which is a different model number but fits this fire engine it also costs half the price of the old remote, so make sure if you want it you get the right model which is 6914.The only thing I would say that's not good is it would be nice if the remote had rechargeable battery pack instead of normal AAs. But you can always buy rechargeable ones I guess.Great Playmobil set. All kids want to play with a fire engine from time to time and this a very complete, sturdy set.The ladder can be extended to an appropriated height and the cabin holds 4 fearless firemen. The lights and sounds complement an already very complete and quality toy. Comes with al the necessary accessories rescue missions require.Plenty of adventures to be had. Our son frequently has to rescue trapped victims in his sister's Playmobil doll house. We by the way, bought and added the optional wireless Playmobil RC set, which enhances the play value massively.Brought this for a 3 year old playmobil fan and he loves it. Comes with some great assesories and one fireman. The lights and sirens are loved and actually aren't to annoying or loud for the parent to have to endure! The construction of it is pretty easy although the instructions make it out to be more confusingThis looks good but the wheels broke off within a month of playing with it and will not click back in place. A fire engine without wheels is not much fun to play with. Very dissapointed. A lot of money to pay for a toy that breaks a month later. I thought playmobil was a good make but clearly not very robust. My son was very upset as it was a long awaited present on his Christmas list.I was surprised by quite how large this was when it arrived! I also didn't realise it needed assembling. However, my son absolutely loves it. He was given an extra set if fire men too as the engine doesn't come with a full set he hasn't stopped playing with it since Christmas Day. He has put out every fire in the house. It's great that you can upgrade to a remote control version with an extra kit too. Definitely a great toy and reasonably priced for playmobil.
