As of today, the price has increased by 61.6% to $20.99. This might be a gouge due to having only a few days left until Halloween. I would not have purchased these at this price.I live in an older home that doesn't have outdoor outlets, and even inside outlets are difficult to come by, so getting to decorate for the darker hours hasn't been an option for me in many years.These lights have been up and continuously on for fourteen (14) days and counting. They've survived numerous storms, heavy rains, and strong winds without any problems. I haven't yet had to change out the four (4) AA batteries the unit requires, and suspect that they'll carry on to be bright and festive for Halloween night in five days.There are numerous settings to choose from but I always prefer the lights to just stay on and constant. A few times the setting has changed to a flashing or flickering without anyone having touched the simple push button, but whatever that was it resolved itself early on.The price has been a great deal. I figured that changing the batteries often would devalue the affordable cost but I'm very happy to find that's not the case.The case that holds the batteries hangs from the lighted cord, on the hand rail by the front door. There is a very high porch roof above it but because it's on the edge of the porch it doesn't receive much protection and definitely gets pummeled with rain and tossed with wind. I would have no reservation about wrapping these around greenery and tossing the case under a bush.I'm going to be buying more to switch out for the Christmas season since this has been such a great experience.I highly recommend these lights.I bought several of these strands, and a couple were difficult to connect, battery-wise. Otherwise, I love them!I love my orange-colored battery-operated Halloween lights! Only thing is I wish they were a little brighter, but they're very nice overall. I'd like to buy more for next Halloween to put around my balconies, and I'd like to get some Christmas lights as well. It's so convenient to be able to use battery-operated lights, especially outside.I installed these on my golf cart. A lot of people asked where I purchased them. They worked real well and the lights could be switched from 8 different programs.It seems to be a hit or miss kind of thing. I bought 3 and 2 of them worked but the 3rd didn't. I put 2 sets of fresh batteries in it and nothing. It wouldn't work. The light settings and timer are great when they work.I'm updating my review. After fidgeting around with the product after it stopped working, I found that the piece that holds the batteries doesn't stay in place well. So, although the product does work after fixing the batteries, it is pretty annoying to have to keep fixing them. The lights are very pretty though.
