I bought this as a replacement for the current color changing item I have on my desk now. This one does more colors and has a smooth transition instead of the jarring sudden change I had before. The cord is plenty long so it makes it great to plug it in and put it just about anywhere on my desk. Just wish the power button was closer to the base. But overall the quality is really nice and feels really good not something made with plywood. I did try it in a large room and the LED was bright enough to light up a 15'x15' room with ease with nothing on top.I was worried, when I bought this, that it would be a little too big for my desk and that it wouldn't fit my glass penguin. It is the perfect size.I also love the fact that I can change the color and brightness. Most others that I looked at just cycled through a variety of colors automatically. I can choose what color I want (or if I want it to cycle through colors) and adjust the brightness I want. This is awesome!A detail I missed when I ordered these: This is a constant rotation of all the colors, which is very festive but a little distracting. I thought you could choose a color and keep it on that one. I decided to keep them because the price was very good, but they may end up being more of a Christmastime display than year-round.(Hint: These look great in a bar if you put a bottle of clear alcohol on the light.)Just what I was looking for.
